I was reading about the moans about Stuani flying off to represent his country, and it makes me wonder, do clubs derive any benefit from their players going away during an international break? In the past, a team in the second flight would see it as an honour to have a player called up and the player would be given a confidence boost. These days it just seems to be an excuse for their form to dip as they claim to be tired.

So how do you all feel about Karanka now? Is he the man to lead Boro back to the Prem? Has he got the right blend of silk and steel to keep performances up later in the season when the pressure is on?
At least there is one thing you can be sure of, the chairman will back him as far as he can. That is one man who deserves so much more credit than he gets for what he has done for the club.
1.) Karanka has done a lot for this club, and yes, Gibson has put his all into the club for us to reap the rewards and hasn't got the credit he deserves. Also, there should be a honourable mention to Mowbray as admittedly he did do a decent job for us, and if we never got him back, where would we have ended up?
Karanka is doing exceptionally well considering this is his first full managerial experience.
Also, on another note, we sent scouts out to watch Fc Porto vs Sporting Lisbon but there is no clear target as yet, but we are definitely scouting a player from the Portuguese league
